Net-Trol is a powerful wood cleaner and brightener which restores greyed and weathered wood to its natural colour without damaging the wood’s fibres. It effortlessly removes both surface and ground in dirt leaving the wood looking bright and vibrant. Net-Trol is fast acting and can restore the original colour of your wood surface in as little as 15 minutes with no laborious and backbreaking sanding!
Benefits of using Net-Trol
It is safe to use on all exterior wood types and is also an excellent degreaser for use on tropical hardwoods to allow finishes like Deks Olje D1 to penetrate. Net-Trol can remove stains caused by tannin bleed and will remove all traces of weathering caused by mildew, pollution and UV rays. It will also neutralise wood surfaces which have been stripped with a stripping product such as Owatrol’s Dilunett or Prepdeck, leaving the surface ready for applying your chosen finish.
Net-Trol is not only for use on wood surfaces though – you can also use it to restore the lustre to faded plastics dulled by weathering and UV rays. It can also be used to remove rust stains and to clean discoloured stone and cement. Net-Trol is biodegradable and does not contain solvents or bleach. It’s not harmful to plants and shrubs so it’s safe to use in the garden!

Application of Net-Trol Wood Cleaner & Colour Restorer
Application tools
- Soft brush
- Stiff bristle/nylon brush
- Pressure washer

Caution: Surfaces may be slippery when wet. Use caution when walking on wet surfaces during application. Net-Trol may dull painted surfaces and some metal fixings if left on to long. Rinse off quickly or wipe with a wet cloth.
Application
To use Net-Trol on wood:
- First wet the surface with fresh, clean water
- Apply Net-Trol with a synthetic brush or roller (medium or long pile)
- Scrub the surface with a stiff nylon/synthetic brush
- Leave to stand for approx 10-20 minutes. If the surface starts to dry, dampen with a mist application of water
- Scrub the surface whilst rinsing with water or use a pressure washer (max. 60 bar)
- If required repeat procedure
- Allow to dry for 48 hours or until it meets the moisture content required by the chosen finish before finishing
To use Net-Trol on stone or concrete:
- First wet the surface with fresh, clean water
- Apply Net-Trol with a synthetic brush or roller (medium or long pile)
- Scrub the surface with a stiff nylon/synthetic brush
- Leave to stand for approx 10-20 minutes. If the surface starts to dry, dampen with a mist application of water
- Scrub the surface whilst rinsing with water or use a pressure washer (max. 60 bar)
- If required repeat procedure
- Allow to dry until it meets the moisture content required by your chosen finish or sealer
To use Net-Trol on nail stains:
- First clean the surface
- After cleaning wet the surface with fresh clean water
- Apply Net-Trol to the entire surface over and around the nail stain
- Do not rinse until the stain has disappeared
To use Net-Trol on plastic or GRP:
- First wet the surface with fresh clean water
- Apply Net-Trol using a brush
- Leave it to work for 10 minutes
- Scrub the surface with a soft or medium nylon scrubbing brush
- Rinse with large amounts of fresh clean water
To use Net-Trol on rust stains:
- First wet the surface with fresh clean water.
- Apply Net-Trol with a stiff nylon scrubbing brush working it into the rust stain
- Leave to work for 10 minutes
- Scrub surface with stiff nylon scrubbing brush
- Rinse with large amounts of fresh clean water
Clean Up
Clean all tools used with soap and water.

Things to Remember
- Shake container thoroughly before use.
- Cover any areas you want to protect.
- Thoroughly wet surrounding plants and shrubs.
- Apply between 5˚C and 35˚C.
- Do not apply on a hot surface as the product will dry too quickly.
- If cleaning vertical wood, work from bottom to top to avoid streaking

Having tried everything to remove rust stains from new paving, I was despairing. Read a comment on Net-troll and decided to give it a try. Miraculous!
Having used an acid-based mortar remover to get rid of the cement stains after laying and pointing, these rust stains appeared after a few weeks. I looked up the problem and discovered that, on some imported sandstones, the acid can oxidise the iron content in the stone. It happened with my job. I thought I was going to have to replace all the paving. I recommend Net-troll wholeheartedly.

This is an excellent if rather expensive product. We have 100 sq m of softwood decking around our holiday home which is 500m away from sand dunes and the sea, and have used the Owatrol method since it was new. Be careful how you dilute it as at 3:1 it becomes significantly less effective in giving the wood a ‘new’ appearance.

Been meaning to protect my hardwood decking for a few years and let it slip, so I firstly needed to clean the wood prior to oiling it. I spent ages online reading reviews and looking at processes to remove the aged look of the wood and the moss covered areas. I am so lucky I didn’t waste my money on cheaper alternatives to begin and have to redo the deck. I made the decision to spend that little bit more on these products and get it right the first time as I really didn’t want to waste time, effort and money on failed attempts. I bought both the Net-trol to clean and Textrol to protect and though expensive together, its so much cheaper than paying some company to do the job. I applied a coat of Net-trol (using old paint brush) to a pre soaked decking in sections working to the instructions and keeping it wet for 15mins by reapplying a mix of 3-to-1 water with Net-trol that I mixed in an old paint bucket, then washed it all off with a hose and scrubbing some parts with a brush. The wood when dry looked like i had just sanded down the decking, I was amazed at how easy that part was. Left it for a few days to dry fully, then planned to protect it using the Textrol. I bought a mini paint roller from DIY store and poured small amounts of oil into the tray and applied it to the wood using the roller. It was so easy this way and took me about 1.5 hours to apply two coats of oil. The results were stunning! From grey weathered wood that was slowly turning green over the past few years, I now had a deep hardwood decking fully restored for minimal effort and £100 cost. I really can not praise the products enough and how easy it all was to do. Well worth paying a few pound more and getting the right result first time.

Net-Trol is the best Decking cleaner restore on the market. – I have tried numerous so called decking cleaners, Like “Does exactly what it says on the tin” – and others which are frustrating, time consuming and very costly given that they just don’t work. Having experienced poor perforing products, I only purchase 1ltr of Net-Trol to test it, well I was amazed how good it is.
Net-Trol is very easy and safe to use (I am a DIY user not a professional) simply apply with a brush, give it a good scrub and rinse off! (I tried both hosing it off and jet washing it off with very similar results) – My deck had been oiled with Ronseal Decking Oil 5 years ago, which had only lasted about 9 months, my deck had since been left to go very grey and very dirty for over 4 years !
I was delighted after using Net-Trol, this product does do exactly what it says on the tin, it may be a little more expensive per litre but given that it actually does the job it’s meant to do, it took substantially less time to complete the job and I believe it worked out cheaper, than the main brands.

I used the product for its rust stain removal properties on stone. I had a brand new light (cream) sandstone patio that had been marked by my daughter’s trampoline. The product removed approximately 90% of the worst stains and what was left looked like a natural mark as supposed to a rust stain. I think with repeated treatments it will fade further. On lighter stains Net-trol removed them completely. Very, very impressed and greatly relieved!
