Net-Trol is a powerful wood cleaner and brightener which restores greyed and weathered wood to its natural colour without damaging the wood’s fibres. It effortlessly removes both surface and ground in dirt leaving the wood looking bright and vibrant. Benefits of using Net-Trol
It is safe to use on all exterior wood types and is also an excellent degreaser for use on tropical hardwoods to allow finishes like Deks Olje D1 to penetrate. Net-Trol can remove stains caused by tannin bleed and will remove all traces of weathering caused by mildew, pollution and UV rays. It will also neutralise wood surfaces which have been stripped with a stripping product such as Owatrol’s Dilunett or Prepdeck, leaving the surface ready for applying your chosen finish.
Net-Trol is not only for use on wood surfaces though – you can also use it to restore the lustre to faded plastics dulled by weathering and UV rays. It can also be used to remove rust stains and to clean discoloured stone and cement. Net-Trol is biodegradable and does not contain solvents or bleach. It’s not harmful to plants and shrubs so it’s safe to use in the garden!

Application of Net-Trol Wood Cleaner & Colour Restorer
Application tools
- Soft brush
- Stiff bristle/nylon brush
- Pressure washer

Caution: Surfaces may be slippery when wet. Use caution when walking on wet surfaces during application. Net-Trol may dull painted surfaces and some metal fixings if left on to long. Rinse off quickly or wipe with a wet cloth.
Application
To use Net-Trol on wood:
- First wet the surface with fresh, clean water
- Apply Net-Trol with a synthetic brush or roller (medium or long pile)
- Scrub the surface with a stiff nylon/synthetic brush
- Leave to stand for approx 10-20 minutes. If the surface starts to dry, dampen with a mist application of water
- Scrub the surface whilst rinsing with water or use a pressure washer (max. 60 bar)
- If required repeat procedure
- Allow to dry for 48 hours or until it meets the moisture content required by the chosen finish before finishing
To use Net-Trol on stone or concrete:
- First wet the surface with fresh, clean water
- Apply Net-Trol with a synthetic brush or roller (medium or long pile)
- Scrub the surface with a stiff nylon/synthetic brush
- Leave to stand for approx 10-20 minutes. If the surface starts to dry, dampen with a mist application of water
- Scrub the surface whilst rinsing with water or use a pressure washer (max. 60 bar)
- If required repeat procedure
- Allow to dry until it meets the moisture content required by your chosen finish or sealer
To use Net-Trol on nail stains:
- First clean the surface
- After cleaning wet the surface with fresh clean water
- Apply Net-Trol to the entire surface over and around the nail stain
- Do not rinse until the stain has disappeared
To use Net-Trol on plastic or GRP:
- First wet the surface with fresh clean water
- Apply Net-Trol using a brush
- Leave it to work for 10 minutes
- Scrub the surface with a soft or medium nylon scrubbing brush
- Rinse with large amounts of fresh clean water
To use Net-Trol on rust stains:
- First wet the surface with fresh clean water.
- Apply Net-Trol with a stiff nylon scrubbing brush working it into the rust stain
- Leave to work for 10 minutes
- Scrub surface with stiff nylon scrubbing brush
- Rinse with large amounts of fresh clean water
Clean Up
Clean all tools used with soap and water.

Things to Remember
- Shake container thoroughly before use.
- Cover any areas you want to protect.
- Thoroughly wet surrounding plants and shrubs.
- Apply between 5ËšC and 35ËšC.
- Do not apply on a hot surface as the product will dry too quickly.
- If cleaning vertical wood, work from bottom to top to avoid streaking

This stuff is absolute magic! My decking had been neglected for some years. It was discoloured and covered in algae which made it as slippery as an ice rink when wet. As is on a roof terrace and we have no outside tap, I worried how I would manage without a pressure hose, but we rigged up a normal garden hose from the shower on the floor below and that was sufficient.
I had serious doubts as to how well it would work but the transformation was complete. Every bit of muck was gone and it looked great. It was hard work though, especially as we had lots of plants to move about. We did it sections, applying the solution to a new area and then going back to earlier sections for a second application. It took a fair bit of scrubbing, but I imagine it would be a lot quicker and easier if you had a pressure hose. It was easy to apply with a paint roller and we used a broom to scrub it clean with water. It was important for me that it had no bleach or chemicals that would be damaging to plants
Yes it is expensive but, as others have said, it does the job beautifully and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. Having checked that I would need 7 litres, in fact I only used 5.

The Netrol wood cleaner produced fantastic results on my very soiled deck. I had used my normal cleaner and it did not touch it. The Netrol stuff really did a good job. I followed up using Aqua deck. This also produced a very good finish but it is very expensive when compared to other options on the market. My wood was so dry it ended up drinking all 5 litres very quickly to the point I had to start putting it on quite thinly and quickly otherwise I would have had to use another tin. The Aquadeck stuff did provide a better finish than other types I’ve used in the past and goes on very evenly without leaving thick patches where it pools and dries like some other have done in the past. All in all I would recommend both products and will be using them again.

Cleaned a 7 year old previously untreated soft wood decking 4metres by 3metres following the instructions exactly as stipulated. The wood was dirty and very, very dull. The results were outstanding. The wood looked like new. It did take a bit of “elbow grease” but the results were well worth the effort. I can highly recommend, but you MUST follow the instructions to the letter.

I bought Net-trol to clean a pair of weathered red cedar muskoka chairs … Whilst it did a reasonable job I have been a little disappointed as some areas look like they could do with another going over, obviously being an awkward shape doesn’t help … Being a somewhat delicate wood I didn’t want to scrub too hard for fear of damage so may well have been my fault … The test pice looks wonderful so I’m hopeful that when I get to to finish with the Textrol they will be beautiful again, unfortunately the weather has turned cold so have to wait …. Would I buy again? Definitely …. Was it easy to apply? Yes & clean up a dream

Thanks for your reply I left first application 15 minutes and scrubbed with nylon brush, second coat left half hour whilst maintaining damp surface and scrubbing again.
I don’t expect it can work on everything, I just feel the reviews regards stone were a bit exaggerated but people can only speak as they find. Increased my star rating because you at least followed up my review.

Used on Indian sandstone according to instructions on rust stains with no effect whatsoever.
Not cheap at £ 27 ( Inc vat ! )

It’s primarily designed for cleaning and restoring weathered wood but we have had many customers achieving great results removing rust stains from stone. Unfortunately with deep, difficult stains it may not be effective or may need a repeat application and we do recommend trying a sample first. Can you tell us did you scrub the Net-Trol into the surface of the sandstone before rinsing it away and how long did you leave it to work?

Having tried everything to remove rust stains from new paving, I was despairing. Read a comment on Net-troll and decided to give it a try. Miraculous!
Having used an acid-based mortar remover to get rid of the cement stains after laying and pointing, these rust stains appeared after a few weeks. I looked up the problem and discovered that, on some imported sandstones, the acid can oxidise the iron content in the stone. It happened with my job. I thought I was going to have to replace all the paving. I recommend Net-troll wholeheartedly.

Wouldn’t usually take the time to review, but this product is exceptionally good. It cleaned up our neglected decking (4 years untreated) almost as good as new with a pressure wash rinse, even removing rust stains from the bbq gas canister. Well worth the money.
